ABPI, healthcare disclosure database: C&C Group have been working with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (the ABPI), to deliver an industry wide healthcare disclosure database. The process will help increase the transparency of all payments between the Pharmaceutical Industry and Healthcare Professionals and Organisations in the UK. C&C Group designed, developed and hosted a web based system which scanned and imported a complex disclosure report from each organisation registered. The system aims to match and merge the data into a consolidated healthcare professional or organisation record. On a technological level the system utilises C&C Group’s seamless matching process which is based upon several Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms. The Web Portal is designed and delivered in the latest MVC platform for Microsoft.NET.
The disclosure, matching, and cleansing process allows consolidated data to be handed on to IMS Health who present the information to the public via their own reporting system. This annual process brings new openness and transparency to the vital integration of healthcare professionals, organisations, and the Pharmaceutical Industry.
