Matt Hartley – Chief Executive
Matt joined C&C Group in 2003 as a Senior Developer and became Chief Executive in September 2019. Matt has worked in all departments of the company helping to deliver new products, innovation and services into our ever-growing customer base.
Matt started his career as software developer on the electricity Metering Point Registration System (MPRS) which manages the switching process within electricity. Switching, new connections, settlement and data quality remains to this day a particular expertise of Matt’s.
Matt holds an Honours Degree in Business Economics from Exeter University.
Dave joined C&C Group in 2005 as an energy industry specialist. He started his career as an apprentice electrician and left Northern Powergrid after 19 years, responsible for multiple operational services supporting the competitive energy supply market.
Since joining C&C Group, he has introduced multiple new innovative services that are benefiting a broad and expanding customer base.
Dave became an Executive Director in September 2019 and a significant part of his remit relates to strategic growth planning and subsequent delivery.
Dave has an Honours Degree in Information Technology.
Tony is responsible for all development activities in our Gateshead office and to drive forward the technical innovation of our products and services across the company.
Tony has worked in all aspects of system development for more than 25 years. A large proportion of this time has been in the utilities sector but he also has experience in telecoms. Tony’s main area of expertise is the gas industry and he was heavily involved with the opening of the competitive gas market where he worked for nine years for npower, formally Northern Electric.
Tony holds an MSc in Computer Modelling and Simulation and a BSc in Pure and Applied Physics.
Jon has worked for C&C Group since 2004 and is responsible for all of C&C Group’s hosted infrastructure and Information Security. Jon has worked tirelessly on achieving and maintaining our ISO27001 compliance as well as ensuring a high availability of our hosted cloud services.
Jon has an Honours Degree (BSc) in Software Design & Engineering.
Neil Mc Keown – Chief Customer Officer
Neil joined C&C Group in August 2013 and is Head of all Customer Accounts.
Since joining C&C Group, Neil has been leading on C&C Group’s smart metering activities, working with DNOs in the Registration space to provide a fully managed RDP service interface to the DCC.
Neil spent his previous 15 years working for Electralink in a number of roles principally within Business Development being the BD lead for Electralink’s Network commercial messaging services across electricity and gas.
Neil brings excellent knowledge across gas and electricity to C&C Group, has significantly built his knowledge and relationships within water and has superb interpersonal skills and developed longstanding relationships across all levels of clients throughout these sectors.
He holds a 2:1 BA Hons degree in Business with Computing and an MBA from CASS Business School.
Simon has over 15 years’ experience of working in projects, starting as a Business Analyst before moving into Project Management in 2007. He holds PRINCE2, Agile Project Management, and Programme Management qualifications and is experienced in delivering change using these methodologies.
Simon has worked for C&C Group since 2016, having previously worked in a Government Agency and in the Finance Industry.
Justine is responsible for all matters financial within C&C Group and joined in 2006.
Having spent 13 years with Toyota GB, Justine learned the art of Japanese precision in an Accountancy role and since working with C&C Group she has extended her wide and varied range of skillsets (whilst still meticulously managing the C&C Group accounts) to manage the C&C Group HR and Payroll functions across our UK sites.
Prior to joining Toyota and C&C Group, Justine spent the early part of her career working within various cottage and boutique entrepreneurial businesses managing corporate finance and obtaining real first-hand experience in what it takes to succeed in establishing and growing a business.
Craig joined C&C Group in 2010 as Helpdesk Manager, where he combined his passion for technology and problem solving.
Craig started his career working for one of the UK’s largest online travel retailers where he gained valuable experience in a number of sectors including Customer Service, Process Management and Service Delivery.
Over the years Craig has acquired intimate knowledge of the company, our products and services and the industries we serve. Craig is a certified advocate of ITIL and is passionate about delivering a premium service to our customer base.
Craig has two daughters and when he’s not working he can be found hiding from them in his shed.
Stuart Jackson worked for Northern Powergrid for 17 years prior to joining C&C Group, bringing with him a wealth of industry knowledge. Since joining C&C Group in 2007, Stuart has held a number of key roles in both the utilities and pharmaceutical practises. These include Project Management, Business Analysis, Account Management, Test Management, Service Delivery and Quality Management.
Stuart went on to manage our Testing and Tier 2 Support functions, before moving into his current role as Head of Service Delivery. Stuart is responsible for managing the entire support function for C&C, ensuring our products and services are delivered to our customers at the highest quality.
Stuart gained his ITIL 4 Foundation certification in December 2019.
Colin joined C&C Group in 2013. During his time with the company he has been responsible for testing many of our blue chip products, while also helping to drive the testing function forward. In early 2020, Colin was appointed Test Manger and is now responsible for all testing activities within C&C Group.
Colin has over 10 years’ experience in testing. Before joining us in a senior testing role, he started his career at Accenture working on several very large secure government systems. At C&C Group he has been involved with the majority of our systems and as such is very familiar with the utilities industry and the systems that we provide.
Colin has an Honours Degree (BSc) in Computing and holds the ISTQB – Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing.
Danni began her HR career within the Facilities Management sector, before gaining the majority of her HR knowledge within the Nursing and Care industry. Working in the Nursing and Care sector provided exposure to many complex and diverse situations, which allowed Danni to gain a valuable and varied HR skill set. Danni specialises in Employee Relations, Employment Law and Change Management.
Danni is fully CIPD qualified, obtaining her Advanced Level 7 Diploma in Human Resources Management in 2015.
Development Team Leads at C&C Group manage a core group of developers that report directly into them. They each have overall responsibility for the development and upkeep of the systems under their remit.
Andrew joined C&C Group in 2004 after completing a Master degree in e-business at Staffordshire University.
He was initially heavily involved in the pharmaceutical sector, working on the implementation of a Pricing Management System and on multiple implementations of the Agreement Management System.
In 2010, following a competitive tender exercise the Central Market Agency (CMA) awarded C&C Group the contract for the development and on-going support and maintenance of the Central Systems, which is responsible for the registration and billing of non-domestic water and sewerage services in Scotland. Andrew is the Central Systems Account Director and has built up significant knowledge of the water industry and supports the CMA in their business as usual activities.
Dave Southwood – Development Team Leader
Dave joined C&C Group in 2007 and is key member on a number of major projects including C&C Group’s water sector applications, SWIM. He brings significant knowledge and a level head to a range of projects. He has worked within a variety of project structures including validated systems, waterfall and agile development processes and has worked with all elements of the full project lifecycle.
Dave has over 25 years experience in software development and has been exposed to a diverse set of industries including life insurance and pensions, property, legal, music and latterly pharmaceutical, utilities and life sciences.
Dave is a father of 2 and a keen cyclist, having completed the London to Brighton charity cycle several times.
Dave holds a 1st class honours degree in Mathematics from Kings College, London.
Eddie has been working at C&C Group since 2008 and is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of both greenfield and brownfield software to C&C Group’s market leading clients. He is involved in the various stages of the Software Life Cycle which requires detailed knowledge of the systems, services and data modules of the solution.
Day-to-day, he manages a highly skilled team that develops and supports several industry standard software solutions in the utilities and pharmaceutical sectors.
He is also our subject matter expert on Settlement in the water market for both England and Scotland.
Ian has over 25 years’ experience in the software industry having worked in support, development, technical architecture, service delivery and project management roles across a diverse range of industries and technologies. He has worked for a number of companies both small niche market organisations and large multi-nationals.
Ian joined C&C Group in 2009 to head up the development & delivery of industry enhancements to the MPRS system. During the last 10 years he has gained an invaluable knowledge of the electricity industry and the C&C Group portfolio of products. He is well respected by colleagues and clients alike with an innovative and can-do approach to software design and delivery.
Ian has built long standing relationships with business partners and clients and is regarded as the go-to contact for help and advice by a number of C&C Group customers.
Paul has over 20 years’ experience in the software industry having worked in development, project management and system architecture roles across a diverse range of industries and technologies. He has worked for a number of companies ranging from small tech-start-ups to large international corporations.
Paul joined C&C Group in 2012 and has gained a broad knowledge of the company’s software portfolio. Day-to-day he is responsible for the design, development and support of a number of client-facing, business-critical systems and is often the bridge-contact between management, customers and internal development / support teams.
Chris has been with C&C Group since September 2017 and has 14 years of commercial development experience. Before joining C&C his previous jobs were in the Financial, Health, and Criminal industries showing that he has a vast knowledge of different industries and is very versatile in finding a problem, asking the relevant information and delivering a great solution to the customer.
Chris’ team is responsible for the following applications: Asset Value Portal, DUBS, MAP, and TAA.
Outside of work Chris is a very keen golfer with a handicap of 6, plays regular 5-a-side football and enjoys skiing in the winter months.
Jason joined C&C Group in September 2019, as the Infrastructure Manager with responsibility over our Internal technology and private cloud.
Jason has over 20 years’ experience within the IT industry, commencing in Desktop Support and progressing to IT Operations, Infrastructure technical support, and through to overall infrastructure management. Jason has spent a large portion of his career within NHS where the goal was to provide an IT service which was critical to patient safety and improving lives.
Jason’s primary responsibility is to maintain the C&C Group’s underlying infrastructure platform, in order to sustain the ongoing availability of C&C Group’s core IT services, alongside the onboarding of new services in support of the ongoing growth of C&C Group. Jason has an Honours Degree (BA) within Product Design, and graduated from Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design.
Steve left school at 16 and did an electrical apprenticeship in the chemical industry specialising in automation and real-time control systems. Time out to do a BSc (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and then a part time MSc in Robotics led to an Engineering design and management role within ICI’s embryonic centre for computer science.
After two years working on new language and compiler development, Steve saw an opportunity to cross over to the fast-developing area of relational databases and had early exposure to Oracle.
Taking those Oracle and C development skills to the freelance market led to contracts at British Telecom working on the system X and Y digital exchanges and then a seminal move to the start-up of the Eurotunnel project. Eurotunnel gave Steve the opportunity to bring in a development team under his own commercial consultancy umbrella and that team largely took responsibility for systems design and development at Eurotunnel until successful market opening. Having successfully handed over on-going systems operation to Eurotunnel staff, Steve moved to running two contract positions in parallel, one with what was then Northern Electric and is now Northern Powergrid and the other with Bristol-Myers Squibb. The rest is history as they say as that was the start of C&C Group’s major verticals in energy and pharmaceuticals.
Steve is married and has four grown up children.
Grahame Cox – Consultant
Grahame has worked at C&C Group since 2010. Prior to that he was an Oracle System Designer/ Developer with specific expertise in Data Warehousing and Management Information Systems for international companies such as BAT, BT and Telstra Australia.
Having worked closely with senior users and having developed a strong client focused approach, Grahame now operates as a Senior Business Analyst and enjoys understanding the end client’s user requirements.
Grahame has works across the Pharmaceutical, Energy and Water verticals at C&C Group.
