Product – Synapse

Synapse will add value in any service industry where accurate work planning and installation or maintenance of assets is required. These services are inevitably capital intensive and asset management is crucial to profitability and service delivery.

Synapse is a single unifying business solution for (multi) utility and industrial clients. In most organisations and especially in highly regulated environments like utilities, IT systems and administrative processes have evolved with various ad hoc additions. The result is fragmentation and duplication, which ultimately have a negative effect on operations especially in high performance environments where service levels are key and service delivery is complex.

Synapse is an ‘off-the-shelf’ solution administered and deployed via your browser which means low administration overheads and highly scaleable deployment. The system is engineered to add value to your business without any customisation and being data-driven fits any enterprise requirement.

The Synapse engine is being used to support Europe wide planning with one top five pharmaceutical organisation and is under pilot with an intended global rollout with another.

  • Project management
    From initial customer contact, estimation and quotation, resource planning for staff and equipment, stores requisitioning and invoicing. The system supports configurable workflow from project start through to completion.

  • Project planning
    Synapse helps make the business case for funding work programmes by constructing projects with projected costs and resources. Reporting will identify cost benefit analysis, risks and resources and can be fed into ROI scenarios.
  • Project monitoring and reporting
    On-demand reporting on real-time data. Data sources from different systems can be merged to provide a complete view of the enterprise. The Enterprise Reports Server enables users to schedule, view, download and export reports and data.
  • Customer relationship management
    Synapse maintains full customer contact histories allowing you to track new and existing customers. Market activity can be monitored until it is converted into new business. Analytics enable you to measure your sales activity and conversion rate.
  • Customer self service
    Synapse has an Internet browser-based user interface including self-service customer pricing, ordering and progress monitoring module.

  • Security
    Synapse can be configured to deliver different views of the system and of the data based upon your unique user ID. The Security Module integrates with Windows authentication to provide secure single sign-on to the system.
  • Document management
    Synapse provides advanced document generation and management. Users can auto-merge data with forms and letter templates which are auto-filed electronically. A fax and email document distribution module is available.

  • Advanced work programme templates
    Synapse enables the creation of templates from commonly used work structures, which can be merged with live data to provide a fully configured work programme.
  • Automatic data cleansing
    A full PAF address search facility for both site and customer addresses is incorporated. The address refresh module cleans and enriches customer data, keeping it accurate, complete and fully compliant with regulatory initiatives.
  • Inventory maintenance and requisition
    Synapse has a full bill-of-materials hierarchical equipment and assembly repository. Detailed inventories of assemblies and equipment can be maintained for use in planning and generating actual requisitions to your ERP systems.

  • Financial
    Estimation, budget, quotation, margin, expenditure and pro-forma invoicing modules are included as well as hooks for mainstream ERP systems including SAP and Oracle Financials.
