Energetics - Managed Hosting

Energetics are a multi utility service provider and asset owner with licences to operate as an Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) and an Independent Gas Transporter (IGT).

In 2009, C&C Group were awarded the contract for hosting the managed services of the Energetics IDNO registration systems.  This necessitated a completely new purchase, design and build of IBM AIX Unix servers complete with Oracle 10g RDBMS and Forms and Reports Services.

New instances of MPRS and Formfill were commissioned on the new hardware, followed by a data migration from the legacy hardware to our production data centre in Croydon.

Critical to the success of this process was the accuracy and completeness of the migration with zero operational downtime.  This was achieved in its entirety within one weekend, as well as a warm standby server running from our secondary data centre in Maidstone.

The entire process, including hardware procurement, was completed in less than two months.

The service is monitored and operated by our experienced Oracle, UNIX and MPRS technical staff which has ensured that the service has enjoyed 100% reliability and uptime from the outset.
