The Central Market Agency (CMA) awards contract to C&C Group for the development and maintenance of the Central Systems that enable the competitive market for water and waste water retail services in Scotland.
The Central Market Agency Ltd (CMA) was set up three years ago and is the body that administers the market for water and wastewater retail services in Scotland. At the hub of the new competitive arrangements, the CMA operates the computer systems that run the Market and keeps a record of supplier activities including recording which suppliers are responsible for the services at each connection point. Every month it uses this information to work out the wholesale charges that suppliers must pay to Scottish Water.
C&C Group is an innovative and agile IT services provider specialising in and having an expert knowledge of the Utility and Pharmaceutical sectors.
Jeremy Atkinson, Chief Executive of the CMA, said: “We are very pleased to be working with C&C and take great confidence from their track record in utilities.”
Steve Kinder C&C Group’s Managing Director said: “This is an award of strategic importance to C&C Group as it expands into Water our already established position as the IT service provider of choice in the UK Electricity & Gas markets. We look forward to working with the CMA to deliver a service of such quality that will ultimately further promote the cause of water service competition throughout the UK.”
